When you think of Brink’s, what comes to mind? Like most people, you are probably thinking about armored trucks toting around money from different businesses.

Brink’s was established in 1859 and has been protecting, transferring, and providing money services ever since.

One of their newest products/services offered is Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard, and as you would expect from their legacy, the card is armed (sorry, we had to) with many perks.

What Is the Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard®?

Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard is a reloadable prepaid debit card that is issued by Netspend, a popular issuer within the prepaid industry, with additional perks.

Brink’s states their prepaid Mastercard lets you focus on the most important things in your life while providing flexibility and security.

How Does the Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard® Work?

Brink’s has made it simple to get their prepaid Mastercard. To order a card, provide your name, mailing address, and email address.

There is no credit check or approval process, and as long as you do not reside in Vermont and are 18 years or older, you are eligible. You will receive your card in 7 to 10 business days.

Once you receive your card, you activate the card by calling the toll-free number on the card or logging onto their website and activating it online.

You are then free to add money to your card. You can add funds to the card in numerous ways.

  1. You can enroll in direct deposit to have your paycheck or government benefits added to your card. Yes, this includes tax refunds.
  2. You can transfer money to and from another Brink’s cardholder.
  3. Or you can visit any of the more than 130,000 reload locations that are in the Netspend Reload Network (this is the important aspect of Brink’s partnering with Netspend).

Once you have received, activated, and funded your card, you can now capitalize on all the features and benefits of having a Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard, which can be used at any location that accepts Mastercard.

Brink’s Prepaid Mastercard® Features and Benefits

  • Early Pay Day: Setting up Direct Deposit on your Brink’s card alleviates you from having to stand in lines to cash your check, paying any checking cashing fees, or worrying about a paper check being lost or stolen. Outside of the peace of mind in setting up a direct deposit, you will also have access to your funds quicker, up to 2 days quicker, than normal direct deposits with a bank.
  • Real-Time Alerts: For added security, you can set your card up to notify you via email or text messages when your card is either used, tried to be used, or if the balance meets certain thresholds you have set up. Please note that data rates may be charged by your cellular provider (e.g., ATT, Verizon, or T-Mobile) depending on the plan you have with them.
